Another great holiday at Achmony. House is 1st class and the new sunroom is a fantastic area to relax and read a book while watching the local wildlife or scenery. Elizabeth always makes you welcome and is always very helpful. This year i had 3 deer outside the window on a few mornings. (Mother and 2 young), Pine Martens, red Squirrel, Buzzards and Jays. Weather was great and enjoyed eating in Fiddlers and Loch Ness Inn.

It's an ideal base to tour North of Scotland. Highly recommend a stay at Achmony.

I first visited Achmony about 40 years ago, as a teenager with the rest of my family. (I can vividly remember the drive from Bedford – 500 miles in a day! We must have arrived late in the evening, but still received a warm welcome!) My wife and I still come to stay at regular intervals, and we love it. The lodges are warm, comfortable, roomy and always spotlessly clean. The views over the loch are mesmerising – one of the highlights of every holiday for me is getting up, drawing back the curtains and just looking out ... We’ve stayed in quite a few lodges; they’re all lovely and are constantly being improved and maintained, with new lodges being added over the years. Elizabeth understands the art of hospitality perfectly, always ready to help but never intruding. Achmony definitely qualifies as one of our ‘happy places’. Highly recommended for everyone from teenagers (which I once was) to pensioners (which I soon will be!)

The two of us spent 2 wonderful weeks at "The Green". First of all: Many thanks to Elizabeth for the very warm welcome upon arrival, the nice chat in between, as well as the nice conversation at the farewell. We felt very welcome and every wish or request was answered immediately. The weather was mid-June - as we had expected. A bit unstable and at the beginning a bit chilly. But this has only indirectly something to do with the accommodation, because - all the more we could spend relaxing and quiet times in the house from time to time, because it was so cozy there. The view from the new conservatory over Loch Ness and the entire valley is a dream. The conservatory itself is huge and wonderful to spend time in. We often sat in it, until late in the evening watching deer, pheasants, rabbits and even a badger on occasion. All around, the whole house was exceptionally clean and well kept. The space for 6 people is given in this house in any case, because the rooms are large and well distributed in the house. Everything was very spacious and for the first days was provided for the essentials such as coffee filters, coffee, sugar and cookies ;-). We can absolutely recommend this house for a stay! Recommended to explore and a very positive surprise was the beach at Nairn. Simply a dream. Furthermore, you could reach in 1-1.5h drive to Fort Augustus, Ullapool, Black Isle or Isle of Skye. So from the location good to explore the area.

We had a wonderful holiday at Achmony Holiday Chalets again this year - our 17th or 18th visit. We have been going there on and off since 1974 - before the lovely timber chalets were built and they have just got better and better. Elizabeth/ Mrs.Mackintosh or one of the family are happy to give advice if needed, but they never intrude. It is a great starting place for many lovely places and a heaven for golfers and anglers.

This year - with brilliant weather - we were content to 'chill out' quite a bit and watch on our D.I.Y. feeder 16 different various birds incl. Great blue and coal tit, chaffinch greenfinch and bullfinch dunnock, blackbird, Gt.spotted woodpecker, siskin yellow hammer, willow warbler, black cap, wren, robin and thrush.

We hope to be back ...

Three of us spent a very enjoyable and relaxing week at Westend, one of the nine Achmony Lodges above Drumnadrochit. The lodge is situated 800 ft above the village and there are truly magnificent views from the spacious, comfortable lounge over Loch Ness and the surrounding countryside. We found the accomodation spotless and there was a very impressive range of utensils and appliances for use. Wildlife was very much in evidence: we frequently saw roe deer on the road outside the lodge, the occasional osprey soaring above and even a hare just outside the lounge window one morning. Glorious Glen Affric is nearby and we had many lovely walks in the area. The lodge is a real gem and we'd certainly like to come again

We have been coming to Achmony for 30 years plus. It is the most beautiful place, it is as we call it our second home. Over the last 30 years 4 generations of our family have all stayed at Achmony, Elizabeth and her family always make you feel welcome, you have a lovely welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, either biscuits or cake and a lovely vase of flowers. We class Elizabeth as part of our family. The bungalows have the most wonderful holiday homes to stay in everybit worthy of 5 stars. The views from all of the bungalows are spectacular from the wildlife and scenery, the wildlife we have seen include deers you usually see them early morning or late evening, we have even seen the Pine Martins out on the decking, numerous birds and the famous red squirrel. If that is not enough and you feel like venturing off there is Urquhart Castle not far out of the village if you feel like putting the walking boots on you could walk to the castle. A cruise on Loch Ness from Dochgarroch or the Clansman Hotel is a must and perhaps try a hot chocolate with whiskey in. Inverness is approximately 14 miles away, this has the most wonderful Botanical Gardens, the city of Inverness offers so much lovely walks along the river, a castle, bus tours we love going to the Shapla Restaurant and have a window table looking over the river, there is so much to see and do. If you like eating out Drumnadrochit offers you several place, we love the Ness Deli or Fiddlers and Café 82 which do excellent food, their is also an excellent Chinese takeaway in the village. If you wish to go further a field you will find excellent food at the Dores Inn on the shores of Loch Ness or the Clansman Hotel. We never tire of the amazing views from our bungalow and as my brothers mother in law stated when she came with us for the first time last year and I quote "I thought I had died and gone to heaven" this only confirmed what my sister and I always say "It's heaven on earth" Thank you Elizabeth and family for given us so many amazing memories and being the most amazing host and friend.

Sharon and family.

Here is a beautiful house in a quiet and scenic prominent location above the village. The unique view of the valley and the resort especially Loch Ness. The equipment leaves nothing to be desired, you can expect a full equipment you can spend with 6 people a wonderful holiday! The central location is ideal for excursions towards the highland, the coastal regions and of course the capital of the highlands Inverness! You will enjoy a memorable time with love and courteous people, do not wait too long to visit! We had a wonderful time and Elisabeth was always very helpful.

Our stay at Achmony was truly lovely. If you like peace and quiet this is the place to be. Elizabeth, the owner is a lovely helpful lady and can give you so much information on local places and restaurants to visit. We stayed in the lodge on stilts which was just beautiful with a view of Loch Ness on one side and lovely countryside views on the other. Breakfast on the balcony every morning was a treat. You are not overlooked in the lodges and it can feel like you are really secluded. We were lucky enough to see deer, a pine marten, hares and fabulous bird life all around the lodge. Drumnadrochit, the village close to Achmony is small but has the fantastic Fiddlers pub/cafe and food truck - the food is lovely. A Co-op and village shop is close too and a visit to the Loch Ness visitor centre and Nessieland is a must, boat trips on Loch Ness all available too. Achmony is lovely place to visit, would love to visit again. Thank you Elizabeth!

We have now visited Achmony Holidays 9 glorious times, run superbly by Elizabeth. The chalets are situated in private individual wooded areas, immaculately and superbly fitted out. The views from every one are tremendous, seeing the wildlife literally right on your doorstep! We really feel like it is "our home from home" now, as the welcome is so warm and genuine. The local area has much to offer from Inverness, all along Loch Ness, to Fort Augustus. It is a very good central Highland location for visiting, The Whiskey Trail, Isle of Skye, Inverewe Gardens and The Black Isle to name but a few!

We would like to thank you very much for a very nice week in your holiday house. We liked the house very much. Exactly what we wished for. And we liked the roedeers and the pheasants very much. Over here we also have (lots) of roedeer and I like them very much.
Now we saw a real bigger art and we also discovered that there is so much more to see. We have been to Inverness of course, Glencoe, Ullapool, Glenfinnan (and of course Urquhart Castle) and we will definitley come back.

Staying at the Achmony Lodge no 6 was an amazing experience. The place looks even more spectacular than the photos show. The owner, Elizabeth, is a wonderful host. All the arrangements were smooth, friendly, and very welcoming. The views from the lodge are extraordinary, in all directions: Loch News, distant Glen Affric peaks, and near mountains. The secluded area offers wonderful walks. Drumnadrochit is a great village, with cafes, restaurants, gift shops, gourmet deli, boat trips on Loch Ness. For golfers, there are many great golf courses available in, under 1.5h drive. We had unforgettable vacation.

Thank you Elizabeth for offering such wonderful lodges, that have everything, are fully equipped, clean, beautiful inside, for a family to spend quality time together.

Just to say thank you once again for your hospitality. Our lodge was lovely and felt like home from home. As I said it was the best equipped rental we have been to, we have done many round Europe and the UK. So I will be definitely be recommending my friends to visit you.

A very cozy house in a spectacular location. We enjoyed the view of Loch Ness and the valley with the beautiful village Drumnadrochit every day. A good starting point for various activities, as many highlights such as Urquhart Castle, Fort Augustus, Inverness and of course the Highlands are within easy reach. The furnishings of the house left nothing to be desired, everything was there that you needed. The decor was tasteful and spotlessly clean and through the 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms, there was also a lot of space. The window in the dining area especially liked us, here we could see sheep, various birds, deer and bats - wonderful! We hope very much to come back one day and recommend the accommodation 100%.

We would like to thank you very much for a fantastic week in your holiday lodges. This was our sixth Achmony Holiday. We loved the accommodation. We stayed in lodge number 11 and everything you could ever need in self-catering accommodation was provided in luxurious style. The local pubs / hotels and restaurants are very good and Caroline - the local taxi lady - provided transport whenever required to save driving. There is so much to see in the Highlands that one week is just not long enough.

Hope to be back for a longer stay in the not too distant future.
